Pit Schlechter takes second place in Roeser

For the second day in a row riders taking the initiative from early on in the stage, took the victory in the Flèche du Sud. From a break of eight riders, with Pit Schlechter representing LEOPARD TREK, came the eventual winner, Floris Goesinnen.

The maximum advantage of the break was 5'30 minutes on the stage between Schifflange and Roeser. Team MTN and later Team Differdange, both without riders in the break, controlled the gap, but failed to reel back four of the eight leaders.

Goesinnen (Drapac Cycling Team) attacked with about ten kilometers to go and soloed to victory. Pit Schlechter won the sprint for second place.

Tomorrow brings a hard, 154 km long stage between Tandel and Wiltz.
