Team Coordinator Markus Zingen has had a life-long love for cycling. He started riding his BMX bike when he was 6, and by the time he was 10, he had caught the road racing bug. He raced throughout his teens and early twenties on various German amateur teams. Coming from the border region around Trier, Markus also had a good deal of experience working with teams from Luxembourg and France. In 2006 he built and managed his own elite team, and to this day is involved with the development of regional and club riders. Markus studied economics and geography with a focus on Tourism Management. He worked as the Team Coordinator/Office Manager for the Milram Cycling team from 2008 until 2010 and took charge of all logistics at the 2011 LEOPARD TREK ProTeam. Zingen also has his Sports Director and Trainer License and will operate as a Sports Director for the continental team. Together with Adriano Baffi, Zingen will assure that the maiden year of the LEOPARD TREK continental team is a success.
